Membership of the Alliance for 2017 is £25 for both professionals and amateurs.If you join the Alliance in September the fee will be £15 for the rest of 2017. Day visitors to the Alliance will pay £5 extra in addition to the entry fee. If a day visitor subsequently plays in 5 or 3 Alliance events during the year he will automatically become a member. 

Entry Fees

Entry fees for 2017 will be £20 for Professionals. Amateurs will be charged £25. Entry Fees are subject to change depending on venue.

Tee Times

Tee Times will be allocated on application to the secretary. In the case of a shotgun start a draw for tee allocation will be made on the day of the competition.


Amateurs in the better ball will be given an allowance of 7/8 of a maximum 18 handicap.

Members or day visitors who win twice or are placed 3 times in either the spring and autumn season will have their handicaps reduced in the following manner:

Category 3 – 3 shots

Category 2 – 2 shots

Category 1 – 1 shot

For example: A category 2 golfer of 11 will be reduced to 9. His/her handicap in Pro/Am or Am/Am will be 7/8 9 playing 8.

The reduction will remain in place until the end of the season.

Prizes may be reduced or increased and will reflect the number of competitors who enter the competition.

During the season events will be sponsored and the Amateur prize  may be replaced with a prize of similar value.

Better Ball and Am prizes will not be shared and will now be awarded on count back using the following method best back 9, 6, 3.


The Order of Merit for both the Amateurs and Professionals will run from February until November. Prizes will awarded for 1st and 2nd in both categories Points will be allocated for the best 5 scores at each event in both categories eg 1st 10, 2nd 8, 3rd 6, 4th 4, 5th 2.

MEMBERSHIP Professionals & assistants attached to recognised golf clubs and approved establishments. 

Amateurs who are 18+ and Category 1 juniors members of golf clubs are eligible to either join as Alliance members or play Alliance events, subject to Alliance conditions, provided they have an official club handicap in accordance with CONGU regulations

Upon application to the Alliance committee special dispensation may  be given in the form of TEMPORARY membership at the current rates to professionals working abroad, are in their winter break. Similarly, written applications from professionals and amateurs & requesting special dispensation for membership will be given due consideration according to merit and circumstance.

The Alliance accepts the PGA recommendation for lady golfers to be allowed to participate. Maximum handicap for membership is 20. Insurance. It is the responsibility of the individual member to ensure that adequate insurance is in place to cover all eventualities.

There is no excuse for late cancellations.
